It is the last Friday ever for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's blockbuster Alexander McQueen show, Savage Beauty. And our own Garth Johnston was there at 7:30 am., and counted about 20 people. But 15 minutes later, the line tripled. The show will end on Sunday, but the museum will be open until midnight tomorrow and Sunday.

The exhibit of the late fashion designer's clothes is now one of the museum's most popular shows of all time—not only is it best-attended Costume Institute show, with 582,000 attendees through Sunday—it will be probably be in the top 20 shows at the Met since it started tracking attendance 50 years ago.

People who have braved the hours of lines, as well as those who have opted for the $50 tickets or taken the plunge with getting a museum membership to cut the line, have been awestruck at the chance to see McQueen's exquisite tailoring and construction using unconventional items up close. If you do happen to go, consider these suggestions.
