The autopsy report on Leiby Kletzky, the 8-year-old Hasidic boy who was killed and dismembered last week, has revealed that Leiby had been drugged before he was smothered to death by confessed killer Levi Aron. The medical examiner said Leiby had been given muscle relaxant, anti-psychotic drugs, painkillers and Tylenol before he was killed—the anti-psychotic drug, quetiapine, is used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia.

Aron, who confessed to killing Leiby after he "panicked" over the community's response to his disappearance, is expected to be indicted on charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping by a grand jury today. Aron, who has been described as "slow" by ex-wives and co-workers, told his lawyers he hears voices and sees hallucinations, and is currently undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital—his lawyers seem prepared to go with an insanity plea, but Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes said yesterday he would use every resource he could to fight such a defense.

DA Hynes made a shiva call to Leiby's mourning family members yesterday and promised that justice would be served. He also gave an indirect swipe at Manhattan DA Cy Vance, who many have blamed for completely botching the DSK case in his pursuit of a headline: "We are gathering with the police every piece of forensic evidence necessary to support our case. This is a very, very careful process, you know. If you look at cases that have happened recently, if these kind of cases are rushed, mistakes are made."
