Ladies, are you tired of watching the men's Porta-Potta line flow freely like pent-up urine after two craft beers before a Dave Matthews encore? A Danish design company believes it holds the answer to the long restroom queues that women have to endure in public places via their Pollee line of women's urinals. The three versions of the urinal—Shy, Topless, and Naked, which all display different degrees of privacy—debuted at Denmark's Roskilde Festival (which seems to be THE place for peeing technology) last month, and while we don't speak Danish, the reviews seem to be positive!
It's all part of UiWE's Peebetter campaign, which is "developing human solutions to peeing in public space—for both sexes." Some have said that the Pollee experience appears too communal for most women's tastes, but don't you gals always go off to the bathroom in groups anyway? Amirite? There's also the suggestion that the design will "empower" women by giving them the "urinal experience." If anything, it will finally teach the fairer sex what it's like to get stage fright. And yes, squatting doesn't look very comfortable, but neither is standing in a 150-degree upright coffin filled with unspeakable detritus submerged in blue goo. Ladies: would you deign to drop your dainty derriere in the Pollee? [Via Design Buzz by way of Gizmodo]

Yes, Stevie Wonder is playing MSG. No, you can't afford tickets. See these shows instead.
LCD Soundsystem also uses synthesizers. Ok, maybe not the same thing. But it's still a great month for music in NYC.
