As the sexual assault charges against him remain in jeopardy, Dominique Strauss-Kahn and his wife took some time away from the city on Thursday, taking in a classical performance at Tanglewood outside Lenox, Massachusetts. The Times reports that Strauss-Kahn saw a recital by a Danish violinist and a pianist on Thursday, and returned Friday for a solo performance by a cellist. While some overheard Strauss-Kahn speaking in French at the performances, none could make out what he was saying.
Strauss-Kahn's whereabouts were first detected by drama critic Terry Teachout on his Twitter account. "Dominique-Strauss Kahn stayed at our Berkshires inn last night" he wrote on Thursday. Teachout also noted that his wife "saw him at breakfast, but I, as usual, was oblivious." A reporter contacted the two inns in the area, "where rates for a suite can run as high as $2,000 a night," and both confirmed that Strauss-Kahn's wife, Anne Sinclair, was a guest. Leave it to Strauss-Kahn to deny New York any more tourism revenue. The next hearing in his case was postponed to August 1 so that the prosecution may have more time decide to either drop the charges, offer him a plea bargain, or pursue the case full bore.
