While the guy who called 911 to find out if growing marijuana is illegal might still be the dumbest person we've ever encountered, the guy in the video below caught fleeing the scene of an accident he caused in the Bronx is pretty up there in the Hall Of Dumbassery. He almost got away with it...except not at all. Watch the video, taken by NYC videographer-about-town Joey Boots, below:
Boots caught the whole incident on video—the driver of a late 80s/early 90s Corvette jumped the aisle at Bedford Park Blvd. and the Grand Concourse, causing a multiple car accident and totaling the front end of his car. As concerned people gathered to check if everyone was OK, the driver (wearing a "Ryan" jersey), said he was "just backing up", and then decided to make a run for it...even though he was being videotaped by multiple people, who all saw his license plate number (FLA7330, in case you were wondering).
Seconds later, the police show up; Boots and the onlookers give their report to the cops, who happily inform them later that they nabbed the driver. As Boots puts it: "Another great collar by the NYPD baby!"
