Last night around 7 p.m., acrobat Seanna Sharpe, aided by a masked accomplice the who has been identified as Savage Skinner (born Thomas Miller), scaled the Williamsburg Bridge for an acrobatic stunt—dubbed "Risk Life For Flight"—of epic proportions.

After climbing some 300 feet up, the leotard-and-ribbon clad Sharpe performed a 15-minute acrobatic routine suspended between the two towers closest to the Manhattan side, tethered by a 90-foot, white silk rope. The cops arrived around 7:20 p.m. and stared up with a throng of cyclists and pedestrian passerby until Sharpe and Skinner (in a black suit and bowler hat) descended—and promptly took off running. They were apprehended mid-bridge, charged with reckless endangerment and criminal tresspassing, and taken into custody.

Sharpe said in an interview prior to the climb that “My goal is to face my fear and to inspire others to face their fears,” adding that she recently had two test climbs up the bridge in the middle of the night. She told the Journal that she chose the Williamsburg Bridge out of respect for the safety of rush-hour drivers. “It’s not the ideal bridge but I was obscured from traffic," she said. "I didn’t want people in cars to look up and see me and crash and cause accidents."

AvaFederov has the mind-boggling video:

UPDATE: And here's another video of Sharpe in the air, and then in handcuffs on the Bridge, laughingly performing circus tricks while handcuffed, which the cops do not find amusing:
