With one last chalkboard Glenn Beck had his last Fox News television broadcast yesterday afternoon. But just because the talking head/wine magnet's successful but brief stint on Fox News (only two and a half years) is over, don't think this is the last we've heard of him. Oh no, the Beck, who said, "You will pray for the time when I was only on the air for one hour every day" and complained about the size of The Daily Show's writing staff, will still be around on the radio as well as on his new internet venture, GBTV.
Beck wasn't able to directly promote his new venture on his last Fox outing, but he got around that by pushing people to his personal website, which directs his followers to GBTV. Before a number of commercial breaks he said things like "Find out where I'm going at GlennBeck.com, right now," and "Go now to GlennBeck.com." Come September 12, Beck plans to host a two-hour daily program on GBTV, for which he will charge users $5 to $10 a month.
Did you forget to set your DVR? No worries, the internet has you covered. You can watch the whole show (if you want): Parts one, two, three and four. Or you can just read a recap.
Meanwhile, Media Matters has compiled an epic list of "The 50 Worst Things Glenn Beck Said On Fox News."
Finally, of COURSE Beck closed out his last show with a chalkboard. We wouldn't want it any other way:
