A Staten Island science teacher at an all-girls school has been accused of having inappropriate sexual conduct with a 16-year-old student. Danielle Johnsen, 29, surrendered to police yesterday; she is accused of having three hot-and-heavy sessions with the sophomore... which only came to light after other students read about the alleged trysts on the teen's Tumblr.
According to court papers, the teen started blogging about the relationship after Johnsen broke it off. Fellow students from Notre Dame Academy high school in Grymes Hill saw the posts and reported it to the school guidance counselor. Authorities say the two had at least three illicit meetings, including allegedly making-out in Johnsen's car twice. According to the News, the two also watched a movie together at Johnsen's home, during which the teacher "used her hand to perform a sex act on the teen." Maybe she was just checking her blood sugar?
Johnsen was placed on administrative leave from Notre Dame, a private, Catholic academy for girls from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. "It’s absolutely essential that we take precautionary measures. The safety and well-being of our students is always our primary concern," the school's principal, Sister Patricia Corley, told SI Advance. Johnsen will be charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse.
