Rep. Anthony Weiner's week just keeps getting worse. Yesterday, as news of his wife's pregnancy hit the transom and his sext partners paraded for the media, the Congressman's colleagues in the capital began plotting how to eject the sexter from his seat. And if Weiner won't resign? They can always redistrict him out of office!

The two biggest blows against the congressman with the bulging boxers came from former Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine ("Lying publicly about something like this is unforgivable and he should resign.") and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee recruiter Representative Allyson Scwarz from Pennsylvania ("Having the respect of your constituents is fundamental for a member of Congress. In light of Anthony Weiner's offensive behavior online, he should resign."). And though Weiner's constituents are split on what he should do, the Democrats don't seem to be. Others calling on Weiner to step aside include Representative Mike Ross of Arkansas, Michael H. Michaud of Maine, Niki Tsongas of Massachusetts, Larry Kissell of North Carolina and Joe Donnelly of Indiana. Reportedly "additional prominent party leaders" are ready in the wings to "step forward with a similar message" if Weiner won't go.

The DNC's push to oust the randy Representative from Brooklyn and Queens comes as Weiner is desperately making calls to try and shore up support. Apparently "He is apologetic and contrite. Humble, very sorry," a source familiar with the pleas tells the News. "People barely recognize who it is."

If Weiner goes, names are already being circulated as to who should replace him, with some of the louder whispers being for City Councilman Mark Weprin, former City Councilwoman Melinda Katz and former City Councilman Eric Gioia on the left and City Councilman Eric Ulrich and Weiner's old nemesis Bob Turner on the right.

And if all the DNC's horses and all the DNC's men can't get Weiner to step down, there is one other option. Thanks to redistricting New York State is set to lose two seats in the House—so some are now calling for Weiner's district, the 9th, to simply be written out. Which is certainly one way to solve the problem.
