The NYPD released a surveillance camera still—with much of it obscured—and later new video footage of the man suspected of attacking an 85-year-old woman on an Upper East Side street and forcing her to perform oral sex on him. The police describe the suspect as a "male Hispanic, 20s, in tank top, shorts at time." And the cops are reportedly looking at whether he was visiting from out of town.
The Memorial Day attack occurred around 5:40 a.m. The victim apparently couldn't sleep so she took a walk and passed the suspect, who pretended to chat on his cell phone. On East 83rd Street near Madison Avenue, the Daily News reports, "He grabbed her and dragged her down to the sunken stoop of a five-story building, where he forced her to perform oral sex before stealing a ring and fleeing. A nearby doorman ran up to the woman as the creep fled." Apparently the cops are looking at a lead that suggests the suspect is from NJ and had been visiting relatives.
In the meantime, a 25-year-old apparently escaped an attempted rape on East 90th Street near Lexington on May 22; DNAinfo says that incident took place just before 5 a.m., "A man grabbed her as she pulled out her keys in the doorway of her building." The woman screamed for someone to call 911 and a doorman ran over.
