Police have released a sketch of a yellow cab driver suspected of tying up and raping a female passenger in Williamsburg last Friday at 6 a.m. The victim had hailed the cab outside of Public Assembly on North 6th Street to take her to Manhattan, but she fell asleep—only to wake up to find "her hands had been bound with a scarf and the driver was raping her," according to the Post.
The driver allegedly took her cell phone and $20 in cash before pushing her out of the cab at Rodney Street and South 1st. The woman reported the attack to police and was treated for cuts to her face and hands.
The driver is believed to be in his 40s and around 5' 8"; he is bearded and was wearing an orange turban. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers via (800) 577-TIPS or the Crime Stopper website.
