How can you tell if Men In Black III is shooting in your neighborhood? Check for the massive, invasive, double-decker trailers that Will Smith is rolling around town with him. One made the front page of the NY Post today, after being parked in SoHo, about a block from the luxury apartment he's renting for $9,000/week. Maybe he's just giving free stress tests inside!
Anyway, the portable apartment is a whopping 1,150 square feet, contains a movie room, offices, bedroom, bathroom, and marble floors throughout. Also, it's called The Heat. The 53-footer is taking up valuable parking spots, and neighbors want it out. One told the paper, "This thing is like a duplex. How would Will Smith feel if I parked that thing out in front of his house? People forget this is a residential neighborhood, not a film lot—that thing is taking up half our gasoline reserve." Apparently it smells like a gas station, according to another local, who also told the paper, "I really like Will Smith, but I would be embarrassed if that was my trailer. A little modesty goes a long way." Also, there is a lounge/bar, and a totally separate 55-foot trailer housing his personal gym. A real estate agent told the paper that's nothing compared to some of Smith's requests when looking for a rental—allegedly "he did not want to share an elevator with normal people."
Back in happier times, Men In Black III was delighting Coney Island folks with a trip back to the 1960s.
