As part of a statement he sent to the New York Times, Osama bin Laden's son Omar bin Laden, declared that the killing of his father by US military forces in Pakistan "blatantly violated" international law. Speaking in the "editorial we," bin Laden's son stated that he "always disagreed with our father regarding any violence and always sent messages to our father, that he must change is ways and that no civilians should be attacked under any circumstances."
Omar bin Laden, 30, isn't saying anything radically different than what Michael Moore and a few others have said about the killing, especially when he alludes to "the trials of Saddam Hussein and Slobodan Milosevic," saying "we maintain that arbitrary killing is not a solution to political problems…justice must be seen to be done." But it HAS been done, Barry said so.
Still, his father is dead. And that loss "has affected this family in much the same way as many other families in the past in the loss of a family member." You might remember Omar from his 2009 memoir, "Growing Up bin Laden," which regardless of the man's pacifist stance, sounds pretty huckstery to us. He's also on INTERPOL'S Most Wanted Fashion Criminals list.
