As if we needed any further proof that beer gardens are so hot right now, along comes another one. Local West, the cafe and cocktails joint at One Penn Plaza next to MSG, is adding its own 6,000-square-foot beer garden into the fray early next month.
When Local's beer garden opens it will have room to hold 250 people and will offer a rotating list of 16 international beers on tap. Which beers? They are keeping that a secret until they get a little closer to opening. In addition to the brews, they'll have a fully stocked bar and will have wait service providing "country-fair style food" (think kettle corn, sausages and pretzels).
We don't know if we'd ever go out of our way to go and drink in Penn Plaza, but for pre-MSG events and post-Penn Station visits this could be a very nice addition. 1 Penn Plaza, 212-629-7070
