For a brief, shining moment, all America was united in nationalistic bloodlust at the news of Osama bin Laden's death. From Ground Zero to D.C. to some lake at Ohio State, crowds of youths who learned to hate bin Laden from 9/11 class rejoiced, waved flags, and chanted our country's initials in a way that started to sound a little freaky. Of course, not everyone's a "joiner," as the proud patriot in this video learned while riding the L train yesterday. Not one single commuter will participate in his earnest "U.S.A." chant, although one straphanger at least acknowledges his existence by flipping him off.
YouTube commenters are divided on this one. "Rexcetera" asks, "Did someone really try to get a bunch of tired New Yorkers jammed into a subway to join his drunk chanting? Wow." Another wonders, "NYers won't even call 911 when someone is getting stabbed to death. What did you expect?" But Juror8 seems to get it: "Needed Hacksaw Jim Duggan."
