Now, don't get us wrong: we just love it when titan of combover industries Donald Trump gives himself a well-deserved handjob. But last night at a massive Las Vegas rally at the Treasure Island casino, Trump maybe was a little too enthusiastic: he unloaded a series of F-bombs during his fiery speech in front of a crowd of Republicans (watch a clip below). And nothing screams "presidential" like this quote on taxing Chinese goods: "Listen you mother fuckers we're going to tax you 25 percent." Did Trump just fuck jump the shark?
Some more highlights of the speech:
- On the country's involvement in military actions overseas, he said: "We build a school, we build a road, they blow up the school, we build another school, we build another road they blow them up, we build again, in the meantime we can't build a fucking school in Brooklyn."
- On President Obama and our government officials: "Our leaders are stupid, they are stupid people...It's just very, very sad."
- On dealing with OPEC and rising gas prices: "We have nobody in Washington that sits back and said, you're not going to raise that fucking price."
- And of course, on the birth certificate: "Hillary Clinton tried to get him to do it, Bill Clinton tried to get him to do it, John McCain, who's a wonderful guy, tried to get him to do it. Nobody could get him to do it and he did it because we went after him hard, were tough negotiators like this country needs."
The speech has raised more questions from opponents, as well as supporters, as to whether Trump is treating his fake/futile presidential run with the proper gravitas: "I still believe its a publicity stunt, you did hear him mention his show, the apprentice," Elicia Huffaker, Republican staff member who was there, told KTNV.
People are also seriously questioning his draft record: this week, Trump said that he avoided the Vietnam War because he "had a very high draft number." But according to documents obtained by The Smoking Gun, it was because of a series of scholarly and medical deferments, not because of lady luck. Trump was granted several student deferments before graduating from college, and then was deemed physically unacceptable for military service after he graduated.
But Trump has some questions of his own—he "stopped by" Jimmy Fallon's show last night for his inaugural fireside chat on the show (watch it below). And he asked the pointed questions others are too afraid to ask: where is President Obama's drivers license? Where is the President's Netflix cue?? And what exactly was in his cubby hole in Kindergarten???
