Capitals 2, Rangers 0: The Rangers came out hitting and shooting in the first period of last night's first round playoff game against Washington. Unfortunately, despite outshooting the Capitals, they were unable to score on Michal Neuvirth in the the first period or the other two. Neuvirth had 22 saves, giving the Caps a 2-0 advantage in the series. Jason Chimera got Washington onto the scoreboard early in the second period and Jason Arnott added a power play soon afterwards. The two teams face off against each other again on Sunday at The Garden.
Rangers 5, Yankees 3: These Rangers were able to score. The Yankees helped Texas as much as possible in Friday's game, hitting into a whopping six double plays including four that ended innings. For the second game in a row, Ivan Nova was unable to get past the fifth inning. This time, Nova got the loss after giving up 5 earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Mets, Braves (Rainout): Hey look, the Mets didn't lose! But they get a chance to drop two tomorrow with a doubleheader.
