Earlier today Trent Young, a 42-year-old former NYPD officer, was sentenced to 262 months in jail for transporting three different minors across state lines for illegal sexual activity. It is highly unlikely that Young will get a chance to serve his nearly 22 years in jail though—his sentence was delivered to him at the prison ward of the Westchester Medical Center where he is currently being treated for a cancer that the FBI refers to as terminal.
Young was arrested back in 2007 after one of his conquests came forward to tell how the cop, who taught her karate at Iron Tiger Martial Arts (a karate school he helped run in West Milford, NJ), forced her to have sex with him. The married father of three made her sign an "oath of obedience" so the 14-year-old could get her green belt, and then took serious advantage of that oath. He apparently took the girl from Middletown to West Milford dozens of times in order to have sex with her. After the first victim's confession two other girls, aged 14 and 16, came forward with similar stories of how Young would drive them to or from New Jersey or his home in order to have his way with them. Young pleaded guilty to the charges, admitting that he had taken the girls over state lines to engage in illegal sex and that he had "exercised supervisory control over each of the three minors."
After his July 2009 guilty plea Young, a nine-year veteren of the force, was fired from the NYPD.
