When we think of Twitter we think of many things, but bringing families together doesn't nearly top the list. Until now. Move over Ted Williams, social media has a new homeless poster boy. Everybody give a warm web welcome to Daniel Morales! After Underheard in New York (a website created by interns at the advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty) gave the 58-year-old homeless man a prepaid cellphone and a Twitter account, he quickly racked up 3,000+ followers interested in his daily struggles. But things didn't get heartwarming until this week, when Morales started looking for his daughter, Natalie, whom he hadn't seen in 11 years.

The search didn't last long however. Yesterday while Morales was preparing to go on CNN En Espanol to talk about the Underheard project he got a phone call from Natalie. Better still for the voyeuristic public their telephone exchange was caught on video:

The father and daughter—she lives in Brooklyn—planned to meet in person earlier today.

Now, while that bit of heartwarming goodness is still fresh, we urge you to follow all four of the Underheard in New York tweeters—they really do provide a glimpse into a different and interesting side of the city than you'll often find in most media, let alone social media.
