It's been nearly two decades since the Knicks last had a starting representative at the All-Star game, but all that is likely going to change tonight when Amare Stoudemire is named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team. Barring any surprises, Stoudemire will become the first Knick since Patrick Ewing in 1992 to be voted in as a starter. Stoudemire told the Post, “I think [it’s a big deal]. I think the fans appreciate it. It wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for the fans.” Tonight, he'll be facing two probable All-Star teammates, LeBron James and Dwayne Wade, when the Knicks fearlessly play the Miami Heat at the Garden.
