Instead of the massive blizzard and ensuing SNAFU the city faced at the end of 2010, 2011's first snow came and went peacefully, leaving the city covered in a pretty white blanket. And proving that Generals always fight the last war, the city was incredibly over prepared for the maximum of two inches in Queens. Richie Quinn in Brooklyn told AP, "They probably spent a small fortune getting prepared for nothing. For nothing! Yet we were unprepared for the big boy."

Workers were sent to the streets with video cameras sending live feeds of the conditions to emergency headquarters, sanitation trucks were equipped with GPS devices and Bloomberg even visited a Brooklyn senior center to comfort residents about the city's preparedness. But the care is too-little-too-late, and everyone seems to be dwelling on the Mayor's response to Blizzageddon. One woman said, "We still have piles of snow and we have not had a trash pickup yet. Never in all my life have I seen a snowstorm debacle like this." Don't worry Bloomberg, the rats still approve of your work!
