What a relief. At the height of Blizzageddon the FDNY reported a backlog of over 1,300 emergency calls, but as of this morning there were just 166 outstanding calls left. And just three of them were life-threatening! The FDNY was also forced to call in backup from New Jersey and upstate New York, as 68 ambulances remain stranded around the city. Maybe if Mayor Bloomberg flexed his brawny muscles and picked up a shovel once in a while we wouldn't have to call Jersey for help.
