If you were too busy/broke/not-willing-to-spend-a-week-in-the-goddamned-desert for Burning Man this year, you can still enjoy the craziness and the spectacle of the party, because the World Maker Faire's outlandish projects are coming to you this weekend. After starting in California, the event spread to Texas, Detroit and finally the New York Hall of Science in Queens this weekend.

The Faire will showcase everything from chariot races to a life-sized version of Mouse Trap to the "Most Useless Machine" to a computer monitor that acts as a scratch & sniff sticker. There will also be workshops on things like modifying bikes, toy knitting, and making everything from stamps to cigar box guitars. It takes place on Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the New York Hall of Science. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for people under 17, $20 for those over 62 and $15 for students with a valid ID. And just to whet your appetite, here's a video of that life-sized Mouse Trap:
