A Brooklyn teenager has been arrested after she struck and critically injured a 53-year-old delivery man. Nechama Rothberger was driving down Avenue P near East 17th Street around 11:45 p.m. when she slammed into Best China Restaurant deliveryman Tian Sheng Lin, who was riding a motorized scooter. Rothberger was distracted because she was texting.

Rothberger and Lin were both making the same left turn, but Rothberger was paying attention to her phone, and slammed into him. Lin suffered severe head trauma, and is being treated at Kings County Hospital. Rothberger has been charged with a misdemeanor of reckless driving and received a violation for driving while on her cell phone. We're guessing she hadn't heard the news that humans can barely walk and text, much less drive.
