With Darrelle Revis still holding out against the Jets in order to become the league's highest paid cornerback, and the team forced to cut their roster to 53 people, the New York Jets are moving on without Revis on the active roster. But the Jets aren't saying much. GM Mike Tannenbaum said, “Darrelle’s not here and we’ve planned accordingly. We’ve said that all along that, organizationally, we have to move forward. We’re playing Baltimore in a little over a week, and that’s what we’re prepared to do.”

Revis remains under contract with the team, though it seems unlikely he'll sign before the season opener on the 13th. The Jets also have seven other cornerbacks on the roster, including Antonio Cromartie (and his eight kids). Tannenbaum said, “Depth at that position was a necessity. Obviously, without Darrelle here, that necessity gets exacerbated." We're still holding out for Revis to sign on with the team just in time for a dramatic finale to HBO's Hard Knocks.
