When Wendy's has products like the Baconator Triple ("A premium bun filled with three 1/4 lb. fresh, never frozen patties. Piled high with Applewood smoked bacon, mayo, ketchup, and sliced American cheese all made to order"), you'd want to make sure the bacon was at its most delicious, right? Apparently a cook at a West Hartford, Connecticut location feels that way—and that's why he threatened a fellow chef.
According to the Hartford Courant, Derron Christopher Cooke, 25, "was charged with attempted second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, threatening and breach of peace for allegedly pulling out a folding knife and threatening to stab his colleague" last Friday. Police Lt. Stephen Estes says that Cooke claims the co-worker dropped bacon on the floor, picked it up, and was going to serve it, but Cooke advised against it and told a manager, "The word 'snitch' was thrown around. According to him, his purposes were altruistic. He wanted the public to get good bacon."
However, the other cook claims that Cooke was "critical of his chicken-cooking technique, and that words were then exchanged and Cooke pulled out a knife." Estes was unable to resist saying, "Any way you look at it, it's a meaty story."
