Getting fired was just the tip of the iceberg. The two Brooklyn managers accused of forging thousands of census forms could be facing criminal charges. Alvin Aviles and assistant Sonya Merritt were fired last month after using the internet and phone books to forge over 4,000 census forms (though over 10,000 are in question). But Aviles says he was set up, telling the Daily News, "I was falsely accused of specific fraudulent behavior and in time the real culprits will be shed to light."

A hearing is set to take place at Brooklyn Borough Hall tomorrow. Inspector General Todd Zinser says the two managers used a system called FastData to fill out surveys of unresponsive households, but marked that residents refused to answer the questions with answers that could not be determined from FastData. Zinser insists the forgery was done only by the two fired workers.
