Yesterday, Gawker found that a "security breach has exposed iPad owners including dozens of CEOs, military officials, and top politicians. They—and every other buyer of the cellular-enabled tablet—could be vulnerable to spam marketing and malicious hacking." But a certain billionaire mayor isn't so concerned!

Mayor Bloomberg, iPad newbie, was one of the many famous people whose emails were disclosed in the breach. During his press conference, he addressed the news with his usual self-assurance. The Daily Politics has the transcript:

“I assume that ATT didn’t do this deliberately. I mean, I don’t know what else you say. What do you want to do? Take the chairman of the board and string him up?! Hey, they didn’t do it deliberately, I assume. And they found the breach and they’re trying to fix it. I mean, we live in a world where information is available all over the place and there’s going to be security breaches every day all over the world. That’s what happens when you have information.”

Asked if he’s concerned that the breach will make his email address available to the world, the mayor shrugged it off.

“If you send me a message, I’ll make the decision whether to open it or not but I personally don’t think that if you sent me the message, it would be something that I should gnash my teeth about and try to make a big deal. I just -- people send me email all the time. Some of it's spam. Some of it’s things I want to have. Some of the things I don’t -- and if you want to know my email address, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out, ok?”

The Daily Politics also reminds us how Bloomberg's phone number is listed in the phone book, not that people know what that is these days.
