- Boston 7 Yankees 6: For the second straight night the Yankees blew a five-run lead. But, this time they couldn’t pull out the win as the Red Sox got to Mariano Rivera and eked out a win. Juan Miranda and Randy Winn had a chance to bring hom the tying run, but they failed and the Yankees will have to hope for better luck against first place Tampa.
- Atlanta 3 Mets 2: David Wright will be killed for the error that allowed the game-winning run to score, but bad luck really killed New York. Jenrry Mejia was summoned from the pen with one on and no outs in the ninth and issued a walk to a hitter trying to sacrifice the runner to second. Melky Cabrera followed and tried to bunt the runners to second and third, but quickly amassed two strikes. Forced to swing, Melky hit a slow roller to third that Wright fielded and then threw into right, allowing the winning run to score.
- NBA Holds Draft Lottery: In the end the Knicks and Nets both lost. The Nets, coming off a terrible season had the best odds to get the number top pick, but will have to settle for the third selection. The Knicks got watch their first round pick go to Utah as the final payment on the Stephon Marbury trade.
