The naked bodies of Shakeema Elliott and her 8-year-old daughter, Kaliya Williams, were found in their Brooklyn home early yesterday morning. Cops were initially called to the Nostrand Houses is Sheepshead Bay after reports of a burglary, and found Shakeema Elliott's door ajar. Police told the Daily News, "There was some water in the bathtub and some pills were around."

According to their neighbors, Elliott had been distraught over her mother's death last year, but couldn't imagine that the deaths could be a murder-suicide. Friend Tobias Stuart said a few hours before they were found, they had been hanging out and "she was in high spirits, talking about doing her laundry and that she was going home to cook her daughter something to eat." There were no obvious signs of trauma on either of the bodies, and an autopsy is being performed today.
