A taste of Conan O'Brien's first on-air interview has made it online. This Sunday the 60 Minutes segment will run, in which the show's Steve Kroft goes face-to-face with the late night talk show host, who until now hasn't been allowed to speak on-air... though he still can't make any disparaging remarks about his former employer or Jay Leno.
In the interview O’Brien does manage to criticize his former colleague, however. He tells Kroft, “He went and took that show back and I think in a similar situation, if roles had been reversed, I know—I know me, I wouldn’t have done that. But that’s me, you know. Everyone’s got their own, you know, way of doing things.” He later adds that he sleeps well at night, and has no regrets. Leno, by the way, has not reached out to O'Brien since the public watched the drama play out on air in January.
Leno has spoken publicly, however, declaring that he "got screwed" too. When presented with that remark, O'Brien asks, "How did he get screwed?"—but drops it there (he's got that non-disparagement agreement in his wallet after all). Sadly it doesn't seem like they got to discuss the Max Weinberg rumors.
