The Gizmodo editor who unveiled details about Apple's new iPhone is now dealing with the consequences of his actions (a scoop which, before this weekend, has already cost Nick Denton $20K). Jason Chen says that last Friday night California's Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer Team entered his home while he was at dinner with his wife. They seized four computers and two servers, using a warrant issued by a Judge of Superior Court of San Mateo. The site has published details from the event—from Chen's account to a list of items seized from his home—and Gawker's COO wrote in a letter to the police, "Under both state and federal law, a search warrant may not be validly issued to confiscate the property of a journalist."
