[UPDATE BELOW] Fox News' "Real American Stories," hosted by hockey mom Sarah Palin, will be airing tomorrow night with interviews with Toby Keith, Jack Welch and LL Cool J. But the rapper wants to set the record straight, because he didn't actually sit down with Palin for an interview. He wrote on Twitter last night, "Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palins Show. WOW." Watch what you say, Cool James; you might getcherself yer very own Palin target on your back!

"Real American Stories" was originally a Fox News sponsored website filled with interviews with "real Americans," including celebrities. LL Cool J gave his interview in 2008, long before Sarah Palin was involved with any TV project, and was never told the interview would be used for this project. However, the new ad makes it look like Palin interviewed the rapper herself:

This has nothing to do with Palin's other show, an Alaskan themed reality-TV series to be aired on the Discovery Channel. That show has reportedly been picked up for $1 million per episode, and presumably involves in-person interviews with real Alaskans, who are some of the most real Americansin the land.

UPDATE: Because of LL Cool J's complaints, Fox programmers have pulled his segment from the show. Head of programming Bill Shine said in a statement, "‘Real American Stories' features uplifting tales about overcoming adversity and we believe Mr. Smith's interview fit that criteria. However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career." Fledgling? Clearly Shine is not an "NCIS: Lost Angeles" fan.
