One Front Street restaurant in DUMBO can bid farewell to the archaic Footloose laws that have been keeping them down. Last year the Community Board 2 committee voted against giving the establishment a cabaret license, but now the Brooklyn Paper reports the Department of Consumer Affairs has given them the thumbs up.

A spokesman for the restaurant, Ron Alan, told the paper, “We know not everyone will be thrilled, but we look forward to proving them wrong when we open our third-floor ballroom … to a dinner and dancing series”—so concerns over a rowdy dance club should be quelled.

In fact, the restaurant, starting April 17th, will offer up a $50 deal (for two) which includes a four-course meal, Champagne, dance lessons and old school ballroom music until midnight.

Currently they're thinking more old school (the Charleston, the hustle, swing) and say they "have zero plans to have club nights or DJ residences.” As long as they can attract an audience!
