The hits keep coming for Governor Paterson today! Besides NY1 reporter Josh Robin Tweeting that Paterson's aides couldn't find the governor (spokesman says that Paterson was in NYC) and Rep. Nita Lowery (D-Westchester) saying that he should resign, now the Staten Island Advance says that it's been weeks since Lieutenant Governor Richard Ravitch has spoken with Paterson.
The Advance reports, "An Island intimate of Ravitch said Ravitch hasn't seen or spoken to Paterson in weeks. The pal described Ravitch as 'frustrated' but increasingly 'resigned' to the situation even as he continues to 'reach out' to individual members of the Legislature."
You'll remember that Ravitch was brought in (and secretly sworn in at Peter Luger's!) by Paterson to help pass bills and work on the budget in the Legislature, but the friend says, "[Ravitch] is seriously worried about cash flow issues and concerned about whether payments to the schools can be made in March. He said, 'I am here, but I don't have access.'" Sad trombone time.
Let us know what you think will happen with the Governor by voting in this poll:
