A pleasant day is in store for today and tomorrow, with a brief interruption in between. A gentle southerly breeze and a day of sun should warm the city up to near 60 degrees this afternoon. A decaying cold front arrives tonight and brings with it a slight chance of rain. The rain, if it even happens, shouldn't occur until after tonight's game at Shea.

Clouds from the cold front won't linger too long and, oddly enough, the Weather Service is calling for a warmer day tomorrow. Warmer as in a high of 73. If true, and AccuWeather predicts a max of only 63, it would be the first day over 70 since last October.

Friday and Saturday will definitely not be in the 70s. Highs within a few degrees of 60 are more likely. Showers are likely to return on Friday. There is still a lot of uncertainty with the timing and strength of the developing system but the potential exists for a significant rainfall/thunderstorm event around Friday nightish. Rain may stick around through the weekend and into early next week. Preliminary indications are that an upper-level trough of low pressure will park itself to our west, a pattern that is almost always a sign of unsettled weather.
