2006_10_falafel.jpgAn argument at a street food cart at Sixth Avenue and 53rd Street led to a NJ teen being fatally stabbed a few blocks away. The Daily news reports that 23 year old Ziad Tayeh accused 19 year old Tyrone Gibbons of cutting the line. Gibbons then left with his friends in a car and Tayeh also left in a car; but at 53rd Street and Seventh Avenue, the two argued from their cars. From the Post:

When the light changed, they turned south onto Seventh Avenue, but again stopped at a light at 52nd Street, and the fight erupted all over again.

Then Tayeh jumped out of his white Lexus and allegedly plunged a blade into Gibbons' chest, cops said.

Tayeh hopped back into his car and sped off, and Gibbons was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:40 a.m., police said.

Police later picked up Tayeh on East 26th Street between First and Second avenues. He was charged with murder in the second degree.

Tayeh's family told the Post that their son was defending himself, saying he was "attacked by three kids in the middle of Manhattan."

It seems like the argument was at Halal Gyro and Chicken, which was cited by the NY Sun as a place people can wait up to 45 minutes for a delicious platter.
