NYU's graduate students went on strike this morning in Washington Square Park. NYU had refused to recognize the graduate students' union (made up of the graduate assistants), leaving them contractless since August 31. An inflatable rat was placed in front of Bobst, and flyers with "Nerds on Strike" were plastered around Washington Square Park. The striking grad students are expecting their grad student kin from Yale and Columbia as well as union brothers and sisters from around the area to support them. Some undergraduate students and professors are marching with them, and some professors are holding classes off campus (watch out, Cafe Reggio!).

Did you join the striking graduate students? What did your professors say? Let us know!
