2005_09_artsashlee.jpgAshlee Simpson

is probably best known for either a) being Jessica Simpson's sister or b) lip synching on SNL. Neither of these are very good things to be known for, but man does that "La La" song make us sort of want to dance. And dance we will when we see her at the Supper Club tomorrow night.
She's gone blonde again...we're not sure how this will affect her performance, but the bleach certainly hasn't harmed her brain, as Ashlee managed to tip-toe her way around our questions like a well-trained PR puppet. But whatever, we'll still dance.

What is your favorite/least favorite memory involving New York?
Least favorite: being there in the hot humid summer days Favorite: going to ballet school there

What is your favorite/least favorite thing about playing shows in New York?
Least favorite: none
Favorite: the energy fans have there

Now its time for some fill-in-the-blank action

"You know you've made it when..."
you feel proud of yourself for working hard and doing the best you could do

"It'll be time to pack up the gear for good when..."
Never....

"I'll never forget the first time I..."
heard my song on the radio

Let's have some fun with word association. Give me your immediate feelings on the following (if you've got no discernable feelings, make something up that won't embarrass you in the morning)

Yankees
beer and pretzels
Mets
diet coke and pretzels
Bridge & Tunnel
honk your horn
Blogs
time consuming
Pitchfork
halloween
Times Square
new years
Bloomberg/Smoking Ban/Noise Laws
pain when you want to hear good music

A few quickies on the music tip

What's the most played song on your iPod (or an equivalent music playing device) in the past week?
Beatles, "I've got a feeling"

Who would be in your ultimate music supergroup, your all-star Olympic team of rock?
chrissy hynde, stewart copeland (police), flea (red hot chili peppers, and johnny greenwood (radiohead)

If you released a 7" what would you put on the cover?
Whatever inspired me to make that record

What was the first/last album you bought on the day it was released?
first was alanis morissette Jagged little pill and last was kanye west

If Josh Schwartz, creator of the OC, asked you to perform on his tv show (as Modest Mouse, the Killers and the Walkmen recently have) would you?
yeah I like the oc and I think they play good music on that show

And finally...What came first, the music or the misery?
music

If you want to see Ashlee live this week, you can try to score tickets to her sold out show at the Supper Club tomorrow night on eBay and Craigslist.
